Playtime for Benjamin

I really like my rainforest playmat. It has blinking lights that I like to watch and a shiny mirror that I can look at myself in. There are all sorts of little toys on it that make noise.

Best of all it plays music. I like the fast music with the xylophone. As soon as it starts I kick my right leg with the beat. And then I kick my left leg and then wave my arms.

I'm awake!!

Oh wait..........one second........

At my last doctor's appointment I weighed 10 pounds and 7 ounces!

I'm working on holding my head up too. I think I do a pretty good job.

Visit to Grammie & Grandpa's

I went to visit Grammie & Grandpa this weekend. I got to take a bath at their house. I love bathtime.


Grammie thought I was making funny faces.


I got to use a little basin in the sink. I tried to splish and splash but I still need more practice to be able to do that.


Abby was bored. She thinks I'm an attention hog. Silly dog.

I have a musical elephant. He's really cool.


Grandpa tried to teach me to reload shotgun shells already but I'm too little. He & Daddy were shooting clay pigeons outside.


Mommy changed my diaper for the millionth time.


Daddy likes to hold me.

All you can eat crab legs

Last week we went out for all you can eat crabs. This was my first time to go out to a restaurant so I promised to be very good.


Grammie & Grandpa came to our house so they could go out to eat with us. Grammie likes to hold me.


Grandpa learned how to play Wii with my Daddy. They had fun bowling.



Daddy ate a lot of crabs. Then he played with the crab legs for the picture.


Uncle Mike was making funny faces with the crab legs.


I was very good for my first restaurant trip. I slept the whole time!!

My trip to the zoo

I went to the zoo on Thursday!

It was really hot outside so we didn't stay very long. But that's okay. We're zoo members and can go to the zoo every day if we want.

I get to ride around in my cushy travel system. Mom & Dad have to do all the work.

There was a big tiger.



We got to see the polar bears. One of the bears jumped into the water and swam up to the window right in front of us.








They are like giant puppies, they have toys to play with in the water.

The other bear was just walking around. The zoo-keeper said the bear is daydreaming.




There were otters swimming around too.

We didn't get their otter-graph though......





The animals were really cool. It's too bad I missed it all. I slept through everything!!

But I did look cute in my monkey outfit.

Bathtime is such fun

My new favorite thing is bathtime.


At first I had to get a sponge bath.
I got to use my cute teddy bear bath mat.



Then my umbilical cord fell off. That was super sweet because then I got to use my little bathtub.



I love the water. And the baby wash makes me smell really good!!

Being a baby is such hard work.........

Sleep is awesome!! It's my favorite thing.

So I sleep some more........

I'm one week old!!

I got to come home on Wednesday, June 4th. It was very exciting. I got to go for my first car ride. I really like my carseat and going for car rides....except for getting strapped into it.


I've had a busy week. I've been to the pediatrician's office, mommy's doctor's office (she got her staples out....don't tell anyone she's a big baby), Target and Grandma & Grandpa Peter's house for Daddy's Birthday Dinner. On Friday I had a baby trifecta - I ate, slept and got a bath!





I was a little jaundiced so the doctors said I needed to come home with a bili-blanket. I had to have all my clothes taken off and sleep on a glowing pad with a blanket wrapped around me. I HATED IT!! I screeched like a teradactyl.





I'm sneaky....they say I'm not supposed to be able to roll over yet but I can already roll myself over.
















My three favorite things are my puppy, my snuggly blankey & my boppy lounger.

Ben's Arrival

Well, Mommy & Daddy had scheduled for me to arrive on June 2nd but I decided I was going to make my own schedule. Mommy's water broke at 11:45 pm on Saturday, May 31st. Daddy & Mommy packed up and rushed to the hospital. Mommy started pushing at 8 am but after three hours of pushing I still hadn't decided whether I wanted to come out or not. Mommy was exhausted & couldn't do any more so I arrived via C-section at 11:14 am on Sunday, June 1st at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Everyone thinks I'm the cutest baby in the world!
